Atlas Composite Technologies is an AS9100 accredited UK-based SME, specialising in the manufacture of advanced composite components and tools for high-performance industries, including; Aerospace, Motorsport, Automotive and more. Our fast-paced, technically demanding environment requires responsiveness, flexibility, and excellent supplier coordination.
This role will be based over two sites our head office in Ilkeston and our site on Pride Park, Derby.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Engineer to join our team and help drive continuous improvement in the manufacture of advanced composite components. This hands-on role will be central to ensuring product integrity and regulatory compliance, while supporting the launch of new technologies and platforms.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions using the 8D problem resolution process
Analyse production and quality data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
Coordinate and carry out compliance checks, including Go Look Sees of key manufacturing processes
Ensure adherence to internal and external quality and regulatory standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to support product readiness and drive improvements
Promote a culture of Lessons Learnt and champion Quality Risk Management initiatives across the business
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working within the composite manufacturing industry is essential
Strong understanding of quality systems and tools (e.g., 8D, PFMEA, SPC, Control Plans)
Proven experience in root cause analysis, problem-solving and corrective/preventive action systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
Attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement
Experience with FAIRs, internal audits, customer interface, liaising skills
AS9100 QMS knowledge / experience would be advantageous
