Job Objectives
To provide the necessary competence and expertise to support the Quality deparment and the Organisation to ensure products and processes meet the required quality standards.
Suppport all necessary activities to improve quality, minimise costs and drive improvements to support business goals and customer satisafaction.
Responsible for supporting quality issues and for required participation to ensure zero impact to the customer.
To encourage a team environment and to support best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and to contribute to continuous improvements and to competently complete all necessary tasks of the role and to raise and drive resolution where required.
Experience
Proven experience in fast paced manufacturing organisation.
Proven problem solving ability using known methodology (i.e. 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa etc.).
Proven audit experience, good working knowledge of IATF16949 and VDA standards.
Proven knowledge of core tools (including MSA, SPC & ISIR) and GD&T principles is essential.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to document reality.
Awareness of six sigma techniques beneficial.
Understanding of quality systems.
Understanding of auditing with a process and risk based approach.
Knowledge of measurement methods and techniques using equipment.

Requirement for a Quality Engineer with proven experience in an Engineering and manufacturing environment, to lead Internal processes, measurement processes and to provide support with customer and supplier quality related tasks.
Duties include - but not limited to:
Working knowledge of welding, metal pressings and laser cut parts.
Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
Proven metrology experience including CMM application and CMM programming knowledge.
Ability to use measurement equipment, such as hand measuring devices such as vernier, micrometre etc.
Ability to read Engineering drawings and Control Plans and knowledge of quality systems, gauging and close tolerance measurement.
Conduct first off / last off sample approvals and have a working knowledge of the application of SPC and MSA principles.
Ability to identify and react to non-conformances engaging the correct escalation process as necessary.
Lead quality-related issues with for internal, supplier and customer concerns, ability to lead customer facing activities, in particular concern reviews and providing responses.
Lead problem solving activities using a methodical process and support with root cause and corrective actions for product quality issues using proven methodology such as 8D and supporting tools.
Stop production in the event of unacceptable products or processes
Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system and providing feedback.
Data collection activities to define issues and drive improvements.
Assist NPI team with new product introduction and supporting activities.
Participate in the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and have a technical mindset to review and identify gaps and opportunities.
Ensure Control Plans, PFMEA's and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.
Support all necessary activities to ensure a robust Quarantine process and system is in place.
Support with scrap and RFT initiatives and identify ways to drive improvements and reduce costs, identify best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and that also provide for continuous improvements to meet or exceed all customer expectations.
Support department with maintenance of the calibration system, ensuring all equipment is correctly calibrated
Support the internal audit program, with layered process audits, product and process audits.
Ensure revision updates and core documentation are managed and updated as required.
Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF16949/ISO9001).
Support Quality with all administrative and daily tasks required of the department.

Pay: 29,000.00-40,000.00 per year
