Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Assistant
Working Hours:
24 to 40 hours per week.
To be worked during the period of Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm
Working Pattern:

To Report To:
QHSE Manager
Duties
To support the QHSE Manager in carrying out the role by providing administrative and practical support as directed in a timely and professional manner.
To support the retention of the existing ISO certifications Namely ISO 9001 - Quality Standard and ISO 14001 - Environmental Standard
To support the existing Health and Safety procedures with the medium-term aim of acquiring the H&S ISO standard ISO 45001.
To work with Tufcot's wider Management to improve and implement any new initiatives or procedures relating to areas under the remit of the QHSE Manager.
To cover, to a reasonable level, for the QHSE Manager in times of absence to enable the functions of the QHSE team to continue. Seeking the assistance and approval of wider Management as required.
Skill Requirements
Competent at working with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
The ability and willingness to learn and use other, non-Microsoft software and equipment e.g. test or monitoring equipment.
Preferably experience working and supporting ISO certification, in particular relating to Quality and Environmental matters.
Good verbal and written communication skills. An ability to communicate at all levels of a small manufacturing business.
The role is primarily office based but will require regular contact and interaction with manufacturing workers including extensive involvement in the workshop.
A willingness to learn and understand the workings of a production environment and how they link to Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
The ability to work as part of a small team but to take personal responsibility for allocated tasks and outcomes.
To professionally deal with confidential and personal information in an appropriate manner following procedures and rules.
A willingness to proactively learn new skills and a desire to understand the business and production activities so as to better enable good QHSE procedures and practice.
Preferable but not essential, an appropriate H&S qualification, e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate.
