Job Description

Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd UK are seeking a Quality Inspector (Fabrication) based in the Supplier Fabrication Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland, with regular visits to the Project Site in Nigg, Eastern Scotland.. This is a fulltime, dual site role with location presence in the Highlands and Southern Scotland, relationship building and engagement with designated supplier(s) to promote quality management, quality inspection, feedback on performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Support the creation and monitoring of quality deliverables in support of fabrication execution in accordance with agreed timelines Validation of inspection requirements and carry out inspection activities at supplier premises Witness/review of testing activities in compliance with Inspection and test plan requirements Verification that appropriate approvals are in place prior to commencement of specific works Review and endorsement of quality records raised as an output from manufacturing and installation processes. Generation of inspection and progress reports as required. Final inspection release and issue of inspection release notes Monitoring and analysis of delivery performance data, regularly reporting themes and trends to Project Quality Lead and undertaking intervention as required. Report any inspection deficiencies and queries to the project quality team Verification that inspection test equipment is fit for purpose and calibrated prior to use Verification of equipment storage and preservation in line with manufacturer's recommendations Provide support to as-building processes and handover for completions. Interpret supplier production plans to identify improvement opportunities and negotiate delivery improvements Monitor the progress of receipt and return of supplier documentation Liaison with Project Manager, Materials & Logistics personnel, and supplier where appropriate to resolve materials supply issues Assist in auditing of suppliers as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, skills, and experience:



7 + years quality experience (preferably in manufacturing and/or fabrication) ISO 9001 Lead auditor Quality Management diploma or equivalent Inspection certification in an associated discipline (e.g. welding) Membership of a relevant industry body Proficient in Microsoft Office High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format Building strategic relationships with suppliers
