Your Role
As Quality Manager you will be responsible for site Quality compliance, all-encompassing COPQ, and clear direction and stewardship of the quality resource. The guidance of the wider business inclusive of all operational aspects to achieve all quality metrics and targets.
This position is accountable for scrap across site, total cost of quality, effective complaints resolution, guaranteeing accuracy of quality metrics/ results against targets.
You will be the site "Management Representative" and will be a member of the site Executive Leadership Team and Group Quality.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, audit and further develop the company Quality Management System: AS9100 & ISO9001 ensuring compliance. Obtain ISO 19443 Nuclear approval for site and any new standards deemed necessary to support business strategic direction.
Ensure the total cost of quality is captured accurately regarding internal rework, remakes and over makes. Lead and guarantee scrap reduction is a business priority by introducing scrap reduction initiatives to drive Quality to world class standards. Ensure accurate reporting on scrap with a target improvement (<1% internal scrap)
(Total cost of quality, inclusive of COPQ, prevention, inspection, failures and resource to be (<15%) of annual sales)
Develop, implement and monitor a MRB process to facilitate scrap reduction, effective processes and correct product disposition across all business units. Lead initiative to ensure team members from all necessary business functions are in attendance, and are adequately trained in the MRB process to ensure a successful outcome.
Full responsibility for customer complaint resolution, (James Walker internal system - MyCase) by guaranteeing complaints are managed in a timely manner in line with agreed targets.
Generate visual business metrics to inform all site members on Quality performance, which enable business performance to be tracked on a regular basis against set targets. Generate monthly and quarterly business reports detailing quality metrics, action plans and effective resolution.
Develop and mentor the quality structure to guarantee resource capacity to achieve quality objectives, inclusive of scrap targets, total cost of quality and complaints. Continuous improvement of systems, policies and procedures.
Educate site personnel in all areas on their contribution and responsibility to the Quality Management System compliance. Work and support all personnel where improvement is required.
Manage product risk register ensuring continuous improvement efforts are in place for all high risk products and processes. Work closely with Technical and Operations teams to drive effective improvements to facilitate risk reduction. Monthly review process must be established and maintained.
Guarantee compliance of audit schedules relating to site compliance certification, internal process and supplier. Ensure NC's associated with any audit are addressed effectively and in a timely manner. Refer to internal audit procedure for closure timelines.

Matrix management: Leadership and delivery within a cross-functional matrix business.
Team management: Development reviews, and personnel development.
Leading commercially sensitive discussions with senior personnel (internal, or 3rd party) to reach mutually agreeable outcomes.
Investigation and resolution of significant customer concerns to the satisfaction of the customer.
Experience of multi-site quality management as this role may have the potential to cover additional sites in the future.
