Position Overview:
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all project activities meet the required quality standards and comply with both internal and external regulations. This includes establishing and monitoring quality controls, managing compliance frameworks, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Assurance:
Review project requirements, drawings, and specifications to identify high-risk activities and potential quality issues.
Develop and implement project-specific quality controls (e.g., ITPs, checklists, inspection regimes).
Brief project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on quality requirements and ensure they have the necessary resources and documentation.
Monitor technical submittals, ITPs, equipment deliveries, and benchmarks to ensure compliance and timely completion.
Coordinate client inspections and sign-off processes, ensuring all works are inspected and approved as required.
Identify, resolve, and escalate non-conformances and implement improvements.
Oversee the completion and handover of close-out documentation (QC documents, certifications, O&Ms, as-builts).
Compliance & Risk Management:
Enhance controls management, compliance (internal and external), and risk mitigation for MCS.
Advise on and manage compliance and risk management procedures, ensuring alignment with MCS delegated authority.
Maintain the corporate risk register and advise on risk management strategies.
Ensure compliance with all internal (MCS Group) and external (legal and regulatory) obligations.
Administer Financial Authority Limits (FAL) and related delegations.
Liaise with the SHEQ department to update controls in line with legislation and regulations.
Governance & Policy:
Develop, implement, and monitor control frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Maintain organisational and governance frameworks, identifying and managing risks.
Partner with relevant functions to address compliance requirements and risks.
Prepare and deliver compliance and risk training for employees.
Monitor compliance with MCS standards, policies, and procedures.
Communication & Leadership:
Act as the subject matter expert for compliance and control matters across all functions.
Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams as needed.
Lead audit programmes and support external audits.
Design project dashboards to report KPIs and targets.
Data Protection & Incident Management:
Serve as the contact point for supervisory authorities and data subjects regarding data protection.
Manage, notify, and remediate data breach incidents involving personal information
.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Experience as a quality manager or internal auditor (ISO 9001), preferably with an M&E contractor or as an experienced engineer transitioning to quality management.
Strong background in quality assurance, compliance, and risk management.
Ability to develop and maintain compliance frameworks and governance structures.
Experience in preparing and delivering compliance and risk training.
Knowledge of SHEQ legislation and regulation.
Internal Auditor ISO 45001 experience is desirable.
Desirable Attributes:
Mechanical, electrical engineering, or construction background.
Experience in designing dashboards, leading audits, and managing handover processes.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Proactive in identifying process enhancements and leading corrective actions.
