certified Seals, Gaskets, Shielding and Thermal Products Manufacturer based in Lymington Hampshire. We design, develop and manufacture products for global applications for a broad range of industries including Defence, Aerospace, Hazardous Area, Marine, Automotive, Renewable Energy and EV.

Due to the retirement of our Quality Manager,

are now seeking an experienced

Quality Engineer or Quality Manager

to assist in upholding our reputation for excellence, with a strong background in

AS9100

aerospace and defence standards, to join our friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Seals, Gaskets, Shielding and Thermal products manufacturer.

Role Overview:



The

Quality Manager

will be responsible for managing and developing the company's Quality Management System (QMS), maintaining compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements, and ensuring our sealing solutions meet the highest levels of precision, safety, and traceability.

This is a strategic and hands-on role, working closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to promote a quality-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee and maintain the

AS9100- ISO 9001- ISO 1401-ISO 4501 Certified QMS

, ensuring ongoing compliance with aerospace and defence standards. Manage internal and external audits, including client and third-party audits. Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective/preventive actions (

CAPA

). Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and operations (e.g.

Lean, 5S, Six Sigma

). Conduct

FAI

(First Article Inspection) reports,

FAIRs

, and customer-specific documentation (e.g.

PPAP, APQP

). Develop and report on quality

KPIs

, driving improvement projects to increase product reliability and reduce scrap/waste. Manage document control, quality records. Support supplier development and performance evaluation. Liaise with clients on quality and compliance matters. Ensure calibration, inspection, and document systems are robust and maintained. Ensure product traceability, document control, and process validation throughout production. Lead, develop and promote a continuous improvement mindset across the business QA Inspection for goods in. Inspecting, creating and maintaining quality checks for all products, raw materials and packing materials Issuing documentation. Reviewing and updating material safety data where required. Drive, Manage and maintain Health and Safety Standards.

Candidate Requirements



Essential:



Proven experience in a

Quality Manager

or senior quality leadership role within an

AS9100-certified aerospace or precision engineering

environment. In-depth knowledge of

AS9100,

ISO 9001

, and quality tools such as

8D, FMEA

,

SPC

, and root cause analysis. Strong audit experience (internal and external). Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills. High attention to detail with a hands-on approach. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and material specifications. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.

ERP/MRP

and quality software experience.

Desirable:



Lead Auditor qualification (

AS9100 or ISO 9001

)

NADCAP

process knowledge.

Six Sigma

Green or Black Belt. Familiarity with client portals.
