About the Position



We are looking for an experienced

Quality Manager

to join us at Natural Selection Foods in a new chapter of expansion and growth heading into 2026.

In this role you will lead food safety, quality, legality and integrity standards across our two Peanut Butter manufacturing sites in Telford. (Hortonwood/Halesfield).

In this newly created role, you oversee a small team and work closely with various internal departments to deliver expected quality strategy and ensure products consistently meet internal, customer and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting a strong food safety and quality culture within the factories.

Key Job Functions



- Ensure a positive Food Safety and Quality culture is effectively managed and implemented across the sites.

- Maintain internal quality systems, including BRC, customer technical standards, and ensure that processes are in place to determine customer's needs and expectations, they are clearly defined, and ensure that these requirements are fulfilled.

- Work closely, support and proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives within the business, championing the 'right first time, every time' culture.

- Investigate customer complaints and undertake a root cause analysis to identify on-going improvements to Food Safety, Quality or Regulatory standards to avoid a reoccurrence. Prepare formal customer complaint responses and KPI reports.

- Manage pest control programmes and respond rapidly to any issues which pose a risk to products, raw materials or packaging.

- Investigate internal non-conformances and where applicable make decisions on disposition of any affected stock. Ensure that issues are recorded and communicated to the site wide team.

- Plan, prioritise and organise the workload of the QA. Ensure they are fully utilised and completing tasks accurately and on time. Coach team members and support their individual development programmes.

- Attend daily production meeting and discuss any food safety, quality or legal issues or non-conforming materials/products/processes.

- Intake and inspection of raw materials and packaging within 3rd party warehouses. Positive release raw materials with CoA certification as required. Positive release of finished products, including taste panels as required.

- Take an active part in site customer and regulatory visits/audits.

- Ensure that cleaning validation and verification processes are completed and documented, and are reviewed as required i.e. environmental, new equipment, new line etc.

- Write QA work instructions and train operators.

- Key member of the HACCP team and internal audit team

Key Skills:



- Good leadership skills

- Good self-motivation with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure

- Excellent Organisational and communication skills

- Have a good knowledge of Food Manufacturing and Operations

- 4+ years quality experience within the food industry, ideally within a similar food category

- Experience of interpreting and implementing retailer codes of practices

- HACCP Level 3 qualified or working towards.

- Allergen and food authenticity awareness

- As this is a newly created position working days and hours are subject to change. This will be reviewed based on business needs.

- During the training and onboarding period, flexibility with working hours will be required to allow effective training, coaching and handover with the night shift team. This may include occasional variation to standard working hours to ensure full site coverage and consistency in quality standards.

- Full Clean Driving Licence is essential

- Have no nut allergies, and comfortable to support the team with product tasting panels

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 35,000.00-37,000.00 per year
