Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

My client is a Tier 1 Housebuilder building quality homes nationwide with a focus on innovation and sustainability. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for a driven Quantity Surveyor to join their South Midlands based Commercial Team to support a variety of residential developments. Reporting to the Senior QS/Commercial manager, you'll be responsible for managing costs and securing the financial success of projects.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:

Preparing and managing detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for residential projects Managing procurement processes and negotiating subcontractor and supplier contracts Identifying and mitigating financial risks throughout the project lifecycle Collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to control costs. Attending key meetings to offer commercial guidance and support project decisions. Working with internal teams and subcontractors on payments, valuations, and post-completion costs. Maintaining accurate cost records and regular reporting to support forecasting and future project planning.

Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

HNC minimum qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction or equivalent Residential /housebuilder experience with a solid understanding of market conditions and rates. Strong commercial awareness and budget management. Good IT skills and proficient with COINs and other relevant software Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to reconcile any potential cost disputes. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

Other desirable skills include:

HND or higher qualification in the relevant field would be desirable MCIOB or RICS membership or willingness to acquire it. National House builder experience
