We are seeking a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor/ estimator to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, including cost control, budgeting, procurement, and contract management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying and project management, excellent analytical and negotiation skills, and a keen attention to detail. This is a full-time position based in the UK.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
Conduct detailed cost analysis and evaluation of subcontractor and supplier bids.
Monitor and track project costs, including labour, materials, and equipment.
Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and variations.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure financial success of projects.
Provide advice and guidance on financial matters, cost-saving opportunities, and risk management.
Manage procurement processes, including tendering, contract administration, and payments.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely progress claims and final accounts.
Monitor and report on project cash flows, forecasts, and profitability.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional membership with a recognized surveying or construction industry organization (e.g. RICS, CIOB, etc.).
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices, and methodologies.
Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
Project management skills and familiarity with construction contracts.
