The Anthony Seddon Fund is recruiting a
Receptionist
to support the smooth day-to-day running of The Anthony Seddon Centre.
This is a key front-of-house role, providing a warm, calm, and professional first point of contact for customers, volunteers, facilitators, and visitors. The Receptionist plays an important role in creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for people accessing our services.
The role combines reception duties with light administrative and operational support and involves regular contact with people experiencing poor mental health. A compassionate, non-judgemental approach and clear professional boundaries are essential.
Key responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for visitors, customers, volunteers, and facilitators
Manage reception enquiries in person, by phone, and by email
Maintain a welcoming, safe, and well-organised reception area
Support basic administrative tasks, including attendance records and internal systems
Assist with room hire enquiries and day-to-day centre operations
Respond calmly and appropriately to individuals who may be distressed, escalating concerns in line with procedures
Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health & safety, and data protection requirements
About you
Essential:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work calmly and professionally in a front-facing role
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Basic IT skills (email, calendars, documents)
Ability to work independently and know when to seek support
Commitment to equality, dignity, and respect
Desirable:
Experience in a reception or customer-facing role
Experience working or volunteering in a community, charity, or wellbeing setting
Lived experience of mental health challenges, or experience supporting someone with poor mental health
Additional information
This role is based on-site at The Anthony Seddon Centre
Training and support will be provided, including safeguarding and health & safety
A DBS check will be required for the successful applicant
