Swan Medical Centre is a GP surgery based in Yardley Birmingham. We are a busy practice with 2 GP partners, salaried GPs and we offer a range of health care services
We are looking for a highly skilled experienced receptionist to join our team!
The post-holder will be a part of the reception team. They will be part of a reception front of house team responsible for the effective running and workload in the reception and report to the Deputy Manager/ Practice Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Dealing with patients requests via the telephone and face to face
Booking appointments with clinicians
Co-ordinate emergency doctors requests
Workflow and all relevant administration tasks within reception
Faxing, handing mail, emailing and sending letters to patients
Completing prescription requests
Flexibility of working hours is essential for this role as you may be asked to cover at short notice.
Candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday
We require a candidate with extensive relevant experience due to the fast paced nature of the role.
Skills and experience
Previous experience in a similar role within a GP or hospital setting is essential
Having Systmone experience would be an advantage
Having a self motivated and forward thinking approach
Excellent organisational, planning skills and IT skills
Excellent and effective communication skills

Personal/Professional Development
The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include:
Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development
Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.
