Receptionists required - Permanent position, part time hours available.
We are looking for receptionists to join our busy, friendly team working across our three sites.
You will need to have good organisational skills, excellent telephone and communication skills as well as being a good team player. Experience of working in a GP practice would be preferred, however, full training will be provided to the successful candidate during our comprehensive induction programme. Flexibility is requested to cover for holidays and absence.
We offer a variety of in-house training sessions as well as regular reception and whole team meetings alongside regular opportunities to enjoy social evenings and events with the whole team. Car Park facilities are available.
The hourly rate of pay is 12.21 per hour reviewed at first appraisal. We offer 4 weeks annual leave (rising by one day per year of service up to 5 weeks after 5 years' service) plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time). The NHS Pension Scheme is available for you to join.

Job Summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a professional, courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

Job Responsibilities:
Reception
Front line duties - Receiving of patients both face to face and by telephone
Assisting with members of the practice team
Be able to cover all reception duties as necessary
Updating surgery forms and photocopying when required
Any other duties as required
Over familiarity with patients is not acceptable, a polite, professional manner at all times
Appointments
Process appointment requests for today, future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.

Participate in audits where appropriate

Answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner

Have a working knowledge of a telephone system, protocol for out of hours cover
Cover for colleagues when necessary
Administration
To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures
To work in accordance with written protocols
Photocopy as requested
Co-ordinate clinics, send patient letters
Record all Significant Events that may occur, recording on GPTeamNet (intranet system)
Updating of computerised medical notes as necessary

Direct patients away from the desk after booking in or making an appointment
In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately

Whistle blowing: Any concerns or issues that may require attention should be reported to the Practice Director in the first instance, thereafter the partners.
