Job Description

Who are we?

At Newmedica, we believe better sight changes lives.

We're one of England's top providers of NHS and Private ophthalmology services, delivering outpatient care, diagnostic testing, and advanced eye surgery to thousands of patients every year. With a growing network of specialist clinics across the UK, we're on a mission to make world-class eye care more accessible for everyone -- and we're expanding rapidly.

We're proud to be officially certified as a Great Place to Work, based on independent feedback from our colleagues. This recognition reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive, collaborative, and empowering workplace where people can thrive.

Your Next Role: Receptionist

We are looking for a new Receptionist to join our Aztec West site. This will be over 5 days per week, hours per day are flexible, including weekends on a rota basis.

The Receptionist will welcome all patients and check them in for their clinic or theatre visits. You will be working on the patient record system alongside other systems so should be comfortable using a variety of technology.

You'll also undertake a variety of administrative duties such as booking patients into their appointments, making and answering phone calls, sending and replying to emails, managing the post and sending letters and dealing with enquiries. As such you'll require a high attention to detail and excellent accuracy levels. Our clinics are busy so we're looking for someone who loves working in a fast-paced environment where every day is different.

The thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients to deal with, so our team members need to be empathetic and able to put patients at ease.

What skills and experience do I need?

Experience of working under own initiative Previous experience in a customer or patient facing role

Experience in a busy administrative role

A competent user of all Office 365 programmes

Tech savvy and comfortable working on new systems e.g. patient record systems

A good phone manner

An excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format

What You'll Get in Return

We know that great people make a great company, so we offer a comprehensive and supportive package, including:

Competitive Salary: 25,396, increasing to 26,200 after probation. (Pro-rata) 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
