Overview


This is a great opportunity to be part of the amazing team at North Laine Hair Company, one of Brighton and Hove's most highly regarded and trusted hair salons. We are looking to recruit an excellent Receptionist to join our Front of House team.

Front of house team are central to the successful operation of the salon with joint responsibility for the client customer service and managing a large schedule with well over 200 appointment bookings per week. The role is demanding requiring the successful candidate to be disciplined, pro-active and be able to multi-task under pressure in a busy salon environment.

We are looking for a team member who has demonstrated excellent client care & organisation in previous roles, shows attention to detail and wants to work as part of a great team at an independent salon with a reputation for excellence. You will need to demonstrate that you understand what is required to achieve outstanding customer experiences in a very busy salon that continues to grow as a result of great teamwork and our great reputation.

We pride ourselves in providing a friendly, personalised service to all our clients and require a candidate who is calm under pressure, warm, welcoming and is confident in dealing with a very diverse range of clients.

You will be fully aware of the business revenue and have targets for salon key performance metrics.

As receptionist you will also have responsibility for product recommendations. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the leading brands in hair care including Davines, Olaplex, K18, Authentic Beauty Concept, Eleven, ghd, Redken, Moroccanoil & Pureology and attend product events.

This position would suit a motivated individual who is keen to be involved in a vibrant salon environment, & has previous experience or a similar role in a luxury service company. Previous experience in a hair salon environment and knowledge of hair services and hair care products is an advantage but most important is a desire to learn and become knowledgeable in our products and services.

The position is part time and will require you to cover other Front of House team members holidays. As the business grows, additional hours maybe available.

If successful you will undergo a comprehensive training programme to cover all aspects of the role.

Capabilities Required



Be friendly and welcoming with a desire to always be helpful to clients and the team Able to communicate clearly, calmly, politely and effectively in person and on the phone with clients. Able to multi-task and work under pressure with many competing demands Computer literate and able to effectively operate our Salon Management Software, respond to emails and customer requests via social media channels Able to manage a large diary and optimise it, taking bookings with close attention to detail to avoid errors Be involved in the management and posting on our social media accounts Be an advocate of continuous improvement & offer suggestions & implement changes that improve the client experience and workplace environment Be self managing and pro-active and able to manage and direct team members as required in an effective and respectful manner Good numerical competence required for dealing with bills and cash High level of accuracy and attention to detail Be very organised - ensure clients enquiries across all channels are quickly responded to and task list is managed

Responsibilities



Use of state of the art salon management system to book appointments and manage a large salon diary of more than 10 stylist Monitoring schedule status throughout the day and ensuring we respond pro-actively to changes in the schedule. Managing client information and processing transactions End of day reconciling and reporting Taking phone calls and booking appointments Key first and last point of contact for clients during their visit Rebooking of client to ensure client satisfaction for next appointment time Weekly updates of retail displays and attracting customers through eye catching window displays. Being able to effectively recommend hair products based on clients requirements Data entry of customer details and maintenance of client database Will have a full knowledge of all the services and prices offered Stock reporting, monitoring and ordering Help maintain salon in a clean and tidy order (which is a continual team effort) Bringing refreshments to clients

Conditions



The position is part time with the following hours:

Thursday 12:00 to 4:00pm

Friday 11:00 to 4pm

Saturday 8:30am to 5.00pm

The position is a job share requiring the candidate to provide leave cover for the other front of house team members
