Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Receptionist to join our busy General Practice. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a GP practice and possess a strong understanding of the EMIS clinical system. You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service, managing patient appointments, and performing administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone. Schedule, manage, and update patient appointments using the EMIS system. Handle patient queries and concerns, providing information on services, appointments, and practice policies. Process repeat prescriptions, referrals, and medical reports in line with GP instructions. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations. Register new patients and update patient records as necessary. Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, and data entry. Communicate effectively with doctors, nurses, and other practice staff to ensure smooth operations. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence (emails, letters, etc.). Ensure the reception area is well-organized and presentable. Provide excellent patient care by ensuring all queries and requests are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements:

Experience:

Experience of working in a GP practice, with a strong understanding of healthcare administration.

System Knowledge:

Proficiency with the EMIS system is essential.

Customer Service Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Attention to Detail:

Ensure accuracy in all tasks, including data entry and patient record management.

Commitment:

A hard-working, reliable individual with a dedication to providing excellent patient care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour
