Here at Serco, we have an exciting opportunity for a Council Tax Recovery Officer to join us at Peterborough City Council. If you are enthusiastic and embrace change, this is an exciting time to be joining us due to the ongoing transformation of our Revenues Service.

You will provide an effective and efficient service for the billing, collection, and recovery of Council Tax income for the Council in accordance with legislation, case law, local policies, strategies, and government directives that support Shared Transactional Services.

This role will be home working for those that have full experience of the Academy system. There may be a short-term requirement to attend our Peterborough Office where system training is required.

Key responsibilities:

Process information received in respect of Council Tax (CTAX) and update integrated computer systems (Academy & Information@Work) to ensure the production of accurate bills and/or invoices for payment.

To administer and process all types of recovery actions, within agreed targets, including the negotiation of payment arrangements and the monitoring of subsequent recovery and enforcement.

To deal with customer correspondence and enquiries in person, by email, by telephone or by letter, providing an excellent, polite and courteous public service at all times.

Process amendments to accounts including changes to occupation, discount and exemption entitlement, and changes to payment methods.

Maintain accurate records and prepare well-presented written communications to the customer and other organisations to obtain information and in response to enquiries.

What you will need to do the role:

Experience working in a revenue\'s environment.

Experience of working with the Capita Academy system.

Excellent verbal, written communication and letter writing skills.

Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and using an EDRM system.

Salary of up to \xc2\xa330,000 for fully experienced applicants.
