At AER International, we're looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join our London office. This is a key appointment for us, central to the growth of our mining practice. More importantly, it's a genuine opportunity for someone looking to build a serious, long-term career in a global market.
The Opportunity
You'll be joining a team with an excellent reputation and a strong portfolio of clients across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The mining sector sits at the heart of the energy transition and global development, making it one of the most resilient and interesting markets to work in.
The work itself is challenging and rewarding. You'll manage the entire recruitment process for technical and leadership roles across the mining world. To do well here, you'll need more than just a methodical approach; you'll need the intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness to solve complex problems.
This is not a role where you'll just be delivering on assignments. We want you to take ownership of your market niche, build lasting relationships, and become a genuine expert. You'll work closely with a manager who has built this practice from the ground up and is personally invested in your success. We'll provide all the training and mentorship you need and give you the autonomy to build something of real value.
About You
We're looking for someone with substance, initiative and ambition. You don't need years of experience; we're more interested in how you think, write, and approach your work.
You ideally have six to eighteen months of experience in recruitment or a similar role where understanding technical detail and building strong client relationships are key.
Strong written and verbal communication
You work with pace and discipline, able to manage several complex searches at once without letting the quality of your work slip.
Commercially aware, self-motivated, and comfortable working with autonomy
You have a genuine desire to become an expert at what you do.
Fluency in another language - especially French or Spanish - would be a distinct advantage
Crucially, you have a clear ambition to grow into a leadership role with us.
What We Offer
A negotiable base salary and competitive uncapped commission structure.
A clear and structured path into seniority and leadership.
Hybrid working: 4 days in our Old Street office after an initial onboarding period.
Continuous professional development through structured training and direct mentorship.
22 days of annual leave plus public holidays, increasing with your length of service.
The credibility of a respected global brand with a long track record in mining recruitment
You'll be part of a focussed, thoughtful team where substance and creativity are key.
To Apply
If this sounds like the right role for you, please send your CV and a brief note of interest to alewis@aerinternational.com. Even if you don't tick every single box but believe you have the underlying qualities to do well here, we'd still like to hear from you.
Please note: due to the high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond to every applicant individually. If your profile is a good match, we'll be in touch.
