Job Description

Human resources are the most important component of Inchwater's success as an outstanding care provider. The role of the R&R Officer is to assist the SMT with all aspects of recruitment and retention of employees to ensure a productive, knowledgeable, and thriving workforce.

The R&R Officer will have a good understanding of current practice and the ability to engage, guide and onboard new employees. This includes recruiting employees with specific skill sets to meet the company's current and future goals, coordinating employee benefits and suggesting future employee recruitment strategies.

The R&R Officer will utilise their understanding of CQC regulations and DBS practices to ensure that workflows are completed in line with company procedures and requirements. This is a dynamic role based in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities



Primary Duties



To assist the SMT with the development and actioning of recruitment campaigns and retention of staff.

To identify opportunities for novel recruitment practices and liaise with SMT towards implementation, if appropriate.

Develop community relationships aimed at recruitment.

Attend Meetings/Road shows and other networking events as and when required to do so.
To develop recruitment procedures to reduce the time taken to successfully onboard new staff.

Work to ensure that the company operates within CQC, DBS, ACAS and Government guidelines and legal framework where this specifically relates to employee and employer law. Responsibility for the recruitment of staff and the onboarding process. Preparing and placing job adverts (according to agreed budgets), checking application forms, shortlisting, selecting and interviewing candidates. Organising induction training and liaising with the scheduler to ensure that all prospective applicants are booked on. Develop HR planning strategies with SMT, which consider immediate and long-term staffing requirements.
To provide insight on specific areas regarding recruitment, training and retention of employees.

Make telephone calls to personal references and make an accurate record of comments made. To keep SMT updated with any progress or lack thereof.

To assist SMT in the development and review of employee benefit packages on an annual basis. Seeking to ensure our competitiveness in the marketplace for recruitment and retention. I.e., pay scales, holiday days, flexible working, other incentives, or enhancements.

Producing monthly and quarterly performance reports for submission to Directors for strategic decision making and company focus. I.e., staff turnover, retention and results of any new procedures and future development needs. Prepare and submit applicant performance reports to Care management team.
Exercising appropriate discretion in respect of sensitive/confidential employee and company related information.

Any other ad hoc duties as required by the SMT that are commensurate with the position.

Secondary Duties



Answer each incoming call in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, assisting wherever possible and passing on information to the relevant staff for completion or follow up. Updating paper notes and computer systems as appropriate. Participate in team meetings. Attend Meetings/Road shows and other networking events as and when required to do so. To attend a Caregiver 3-day induction and complete all elements of the Care Certificate theoretical and practical. Suggestion and organisation of care giver functions. To develop an understanding of HR practices in the Social Care Sector in which Inchwater operates, to ensure best practices are observed and recorded for CQC inspection. To develop a working knowledge of what makes an Outstanding Care company and Outstanding Caregiver.
