Job description



Hours: 22.5 hours per week (part-time)

, 3 days per week. Please note that this is a job share with Education Operations Manager. Based at the Apricot Centre, with some remote work and occasional travel for events and school visits

Role Overview:

The Education Curriculum Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Apricot Centre's education programmes, ensuring smooth delivery and effective management of initiatives such as Skills Bootcamps and our year long accredited courses. This role includes management of educational resources, development of curriculum, assessments as well as delivery of appropriate sessions with students, marking of coursework, internal quality assurance and student care and experience. The Curriculum Manager will work closely with the operational manager, tutors, guest lecturers, and other educational stakeholders to maintain high standards of programme delivery and ensure that all parties clearly understand their roles and responsibilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to



Key Responsibilities



1. Programme Operations and Coordination



Daily Operations:

Oversee day-to-day teaching and training of the education programmes, ensure seamless execution of all activities, from development, delivery and assessment of courses.

Potential to support Host Placements:

Support student host placements work experience, ensuring alignment with programme objectives.

2. Monitoring and Evaluation



Monitoring:

Ensure all educational activities are effectively monitored, including student progress, tutor performance, and overall programme quality.

Evaluation:

Lead the collection of evaluation student feedback and experience, tutor experience and evaluation.

Reporting:

Providing regular reports to the Managing Director and other key stakeholders, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

3. Tutor, Student, and Stakeholder Support



Tutor Support:

Provide guidance to tutors, ensuring they understand their roles and are equipped to deliver the curriculum effectively. Act as the primary curriculum contact for tutors.

Student Support:

Ensure students are prepared for their learning experiences, understand programme expectations, and are supported during the course and assessment deadlines. Address any issues promptly.

4. External Engagement and Partnerships



Collaboration with Educational Establishments:

Represent the Apricot Centre at educational events or partnership meetings. Attend visits or reviews with partner organisations as required.

Building Relationships:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including host organisations, tutors and training providers.

5. Administrative and Operational Duties



Documentation Management:

Oversee the organisation and maintenance of curriculum, educational paperwork, including student assignments, placement records, and feedback forms.

Compliance:

Ensure all educational activities comply with relevant legislation, organisational policies and best practices in education delivery.

7. Teaching and Training



Deliver training programmes as part of the Apricot Centre's broader educational mission, where required. Mark student coursework and support internal quality assurance processes (IQA) alongside the Managing Director or Director of QA. Ensure familiarity with OFSTED requirements and relevant education legislation and frameworks to deliver a high quality and effective service

8. Leadership and Team Collaboration



Work closely with other staff to align organisational goals and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Skills and Experience



Experience:

Proven experience in coordinating educational programmes, preferably in a community, vocational, or skills training context, including work-based learning.

Knowledge:

Essential knowledge of regenerative farming practices to a level 6 or above or relevant lived experience

Safeguarding:

A good working knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to ensure a safe learning environment.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with tutors, students, external partners, and management.

Organisational Skills:

Exceptional organisational ability, capable of managing multiple programmes and meeting deadlines.

Problem-Solving:

Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in addressing operational challenges in programme delivery and placements.

Knowledge of Education Systems:

Understanding of the UK education landscape, vocational or skills training requirements, and familiarity with apprenticeship programmes or Bootcamps.

IT Skills:

Competence with educational management systems, databases, and MS Office tools.

Attention to Detail:

Meticulous in managing documents, feedback, and reporting.

Desirable Skills



Experience delivering or managing vocational or adult education programmes. Experience liaising with external organisations to enhance programme delivery.
