Regional Distribution Manager - South East
Following notable underwriting growth and investment we have a newly created role in our Distribution leadership team, managing a team of Account Managers to lead on the broker/client management and distribution strategy across the South East. Partnering with local major trading, tier 1 and development brokers you'll be responsible for the overall relationships, ensuring key business plan metrics are achieved to support the delivery of our wider UK business plan, covering our property, casualty and motor product offerings.
Your New Role:
Strategy and Planning
Contribute to the design of the Distribution Proposition, including individual action plans and scorecards of selected key International and Regional brokers, validated by Regional Manager and the Product Leaders, in line with the underwriting strategy and with the business plan of the Region / Branch
Monitor and report on progress of the Regional broker plans (new business, product density and renewal retention), to ensure progress is on target, and to identify any underperformance on new business, renewal retention, & on-going actions
Liaise with the regional brokers to understand their strategies & needs and to accommodate their expectancies with the strategy of QBE. Follow up of the agreed plans.
Liaise with the wider Distribution and Partnership Management team to ensure activity is aligned to wider QBE strategy and in line with agreed Global/UK objectives for MTP and Tier 1 Partners
Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, briefing papers and presentations for meetings/conferences, and present information when necessary on activity with brokers.
Attend and, where relevant, lead internal strategic & distribution meetings, broker workshops and external broker meetings
Manage, service and review the overall Broker panel to ensure progress toward business plan objectives.
Establish clear accountabilities and support required in order to achieve their objectives. Goals/Objectives to be agreed and noted on Workday
Accountable for employee engagement, talent, development and performance within team, establishing a culture of accountability and performance underpinned by our QBE DNA
About You:
Proven experience of commercial insurance broking practices, whether in a direct account management or underwriting related role
Clear relationship management and/or distribution related experience within the Insurance market
People management skills, with the ability to lead, advise and provide a supportive culture
Ability to present to Executives and engage effectively with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
Highly effective communication both verbal and written with the ability to build and maintain productive internal and external relationships
Good organisation skills including work planning and ability to prioritize for both self and the team
