. You'll deliver safe, high-quality venepuncture and capillary blood collection for adults and children (5+), while ensuring a professional and reassuring experience for every client.
You will run daily clinic operations independently, manage stock, process bookings and payments and support nearby clinics when required (mileage paid).
Duties
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages, including paediatrics.
Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques during blood collection procedures.
Maintain accurate records of patient information and sample collections.
Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and follow-up.
Assist in laboratory processes as needed, including sample handling and transportation.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
Skills
Minimum 12 months full-time phlebotomy of proven experience post-certification.
Valid phlebotomy certificate & up-to-date vaccinations (Hep B)
Enhanced DBS (within last 3 years)
Strong IT, data entry and communication skills
Able to work independently and manage a busy clinic alone
Calm, accurate, and professional under pressure
Eligible to work in the UK
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to blood collection and laboratory procedures.
Previous hospital experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of catheterisation techniques is an advantage.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
