As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding for our children. You will also play a key role in establishing the home, including contributing to the Ofsted registration process.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in nursing or senior care, with a focus on developing and managing care plans tailored to each child's needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that our young residents receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of the children's home.
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
Recruit, train, and manage care staff.
Promote a positive and therapeutic environment for children.
Develop care plans and risk assessments in line with individual needs.
Maintain effective communication with external agencies, including Ofsted, local authorities, and social workers.
Take part in the Ofsted registration interview and ongoing inspections.
Manage the daily operations of the children's care unit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices.
Develop, implement, and review individual care plans for each child, focusing on their specific needs and preferences.
Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritises the wellbeing of all children in our care.
Conduct regular assessments of children's health and emotional wellbeing, adjusting care plans as necessary.
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and understanding within the facility, particularly for children with dementia or other special needs.
Skills
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory/management role within a children's residential setting.
Thorough understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the Children's Homes Regulations.
Strong leadership and staff management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, families, and healthcare professionals.
Compassionate approach to care with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by children requiring specialised support.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a strong focus on individualised care delivery.
