About Us
Beacon Childcare is a well-established provider of high-quality residential care for children and young people. Our Selly Oak-based solo home is established but requires a strong and resilient Registered Manager to lead, motivate and engage the staff team during a period of change and challenge.
The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall running of the solo home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for the young person placed. You will play a key role in supporting, guiding, and developing the staff team while maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the solo home effectively, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the young person.
Engage, support, and develop the staff team to work confidently during challenging times.
Ensure compliance with Ofsted and Children's Home Regulations.
Build positive relationships with external professionals, families, and stakeholders.
Promote a child-centred approach, supporting young people with EBD, challenging behaviours, or medical needs.
Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Children's Residential Care (or willingness to work towards it, with full support provided).
Previous experience working in a solo home is desirable but not essential.
Strong background in working with young people with EBD, challenging behaviours, or medical needs within residential settings (solo or multi-bed homes).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
