Description





Responsible for managing a Together Service in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures, and ensure that the team achieves the highest standards and quality in service user led delivery.



Embed service user leadership in all aspects of care and service delivery and deliver on business plan objectives. Ensure the effective management of risk, quality practice and delivery of mental health and social care support within the organisation's assurance frameworks.



Engage with a range of partners and stakeholders to maximise the opportunities available for service users, particularly within their local communities, which demonstrates the organisational commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and the wellbeing of local communities (social value) and actively supports the identification of opportunities for service development.###

Key Responsibilities





Functional Responsibilities

Modelling good working relationships with colleagues and across departments. With local knowledge, lead conversations with your manager to develop an operational and service developmental work plan for the team and overseeing its successful completion and review. Develop a local stakeholder management plan and ensure the promotion of the service in the community. Leading the delivery of high quality, efficient and cost-effective services that empower service users to lead their own care and support. Responsible for overseeing the implementation of service user leadership within the service, alongside promoting SUL opportunities across Together locally, ensuring that service users lead their journey to wellbeing in line with Together's service user leadership strategy. Develop peer support within the service, as required, ensuring appropriate support and supervision of all staff and volunteers supporting peer support delivery. Responsible for recruitment, leadership and line-management of those who work in the service, including volunteers, so they can deliver their best to service users; responsible for performance management of direct reports, supporting their personal development in a caring, inclusive, and supportive environment. Responsible for the operational management of services including through managing compliance requirements' internally and externally, where appropriate. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a high level of skilled practice and an appropriate level of current awareness regarding social, political, legal, professional, and environmental trends that may have bearing upon the service/team. Responsible for achieving, monitoring, and contributing to the review of the operational and financial performance targets and standards for the service. Ensuring the requirements of internal and external monitoring, auditing and contract compliance, providing accurate reports to funders, and supplying timely information to support good governance and organisational growth. Responsible for ensuring Together's health and safety policy and procedures and quality assurance systems are followed. Work with Finance to set the budget, ensuring that financial procedures and controls are in place, understood and implemented, so the budget is continually monitored and achieved. Work alongside the quality team on the sharing of information and completion of quality processes and meeting our organisational KPI`s. Contribute to the development of our quality processes, both new and existing as well as leading and developing local processes, protocols and guidance. Developing and maintaining the high profile of Together with commissioners and other stakeholders, including but not exclusive to, community groups at the local level. Promoting Together and representing Together positively at external meetings as required. Responsible for contributing to the regular review of the effectiveness and quality of service delivery within the service and team, ensuring service users and other stakeholders are involved in this process. Sharing and leading the implementation of learning from adverse incidents across operational areas to ensure high standards of safety and quality within Together services and to ensure continuous improvement of the support received by service users.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise





Essential

Strong record and good understanding of the issues involved in leading and managing care and support services within mental health services including a demonstrable understanding of social care/ clinical risk assessment and organisational and financial risk. Experience of managing and sustaining relationships with a wide range of commissioners, other managers, teams, and community groups. An understanding of an outcome-based approach for delivering success. A depth of understanding of the needs and aspirations of people experiencing mental distress, which is based on either, your own personal lived experience of mental distress or professional work or voluntary experience, or both. Knowledge and understanding of financial controls and budgeting processes and the ability to manage a devolved budget. Ability to work independently and creatively using own initiative whilst remaining accountable to line management.
