Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with experience in mental health settings, providing care to patients with various psychological and emotional needs. This role involves assessing patient conditions, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs. Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure adherence to treatment protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Implement therapeutic interventions for patients experiencing mental health crises. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Participate in case management and discharge planning for patients transitioning from acute care settings. Stay updated on best practices in mental health nursing and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:

Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Experience in acute care settings including ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma medicine. Background in behavioral health, geriatrics, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment techniques, and basic life support protocols. Proficiency in medication administration, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and catheter care. Experience with diagnostic evaluations and treatment modalities related to mental health disorders. Understanding of NCQA standards and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
