Overview

We are looking for a passionate RVN that is open to a different way of working. The role allows you to see the patient in their own home (or on the fully equipped veterinary clinic van, if that is better for the patient), giving one-on-one individualised care. It reduces the stress on the patient, client, and yourself as nothing is rushed.

Responsibilities

Be comfortable driving the mobile veterinary van on a daily basis. You will travel with/work alongside the veterinary surgeon (or a veterinary care assistant) each day. Assist the veterinary surgeon during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Prepare animals for surgical procedures and provide post-operative care. We only see one patient/client at a time, so it is one nurse-to-one patient recovery care. Help manage the daily appointment diary. Option to run your own nurse clinic days either with a veterinary care assistant, or on your own. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the veterinary van. Assist in the management of inventory, including ordering supplies as needed.

Qualifications

Be on the RCVS register of veterinary nurses. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to problem solve and think on your feet. Have a positive attitude and the ability to work with a small team. A Full UK drivers license (the van has a manual transmission).

Hours

Full time (4 days a week) or part time (3 days a week), 8-6pm, Monday to Friday. No OOH/On Call, weekends, or bank holidays.
