Here at Raoul Dowding Vets, we're looking for an enthusiastic RVN to join our friendly and supportive practice. A key member of the Veterinary Team, the role is responsible for ensuring excellent client and patient care. Implementing and maintaining high standards of communication, processes and training of junior colleagues.



Established in 1924, we're a two-site RCVS-accredited small animal practice in Gainsborough and Bawtry. We have a busy and varied small animal caseload. We have all the usual equipment including in house lab machines, digital x-ray and ultrasound. We're a true work family who laughs together, works hard together and eats together!!



As a team we strive to develop a truly family feel local practice that can be relied upon by our clients in their times of need and in keeping their beloved family members fit and well with preventative medicine. We are well established in the area - we have many of our lovely clients who have been coming to us for decades and say we still have that independent, family feel.

The Role:




You'll work a 39-hour average week over 4 days with 1:7 weekends (Saturday mornings only) with no out of hours.



Salary of 24,761 to 29,487 per year depending on experience.

Responsibilities:



Be proactive in supporting, training and supervising students and members of the team undertaking training. Work actively to build and maintain a positive culture within the workplace. Ensure appropriate, accurate documentation of all clinical care and communications with clients, colleagues and authorized external organisations such as insurance companies. Deliver high standards of nursing care, applying skills and assisting veterinary surgeons in the planning, implementation and review of patient care and journey. Care for and instruct relevant suppliers to undertake regular maintenance of all medical and surgical equipment. To understand and implement practice policies. Undertake admissions and discharges ensuring accurate documentation is correctly completed and informed consent is obtained. Perform laboratory work as required, ensuring correct documentation and communication of results. Performing other administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the organisation to include all reception duties as required. Comply with obligatory CPD and annual registration as outlined by the RCVS Stock control through reconciliation of drugs, ordering and rotation of stock and assisting with regular stock takes. Ensure own safety, and the safety of others who may be affected by your actions Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required of you in the post.

Skills/Qualifications:



Appropriate qualification and registration with RCVS as a Veterinary Nurse. Awareness of GDPR Attention to detail in all aspects of role, consistently delivering a high standard of work Proactive approach to problem solving Professional and confidential approach to sensitive situations
