North Park Veterinary group is a mixed independent, first opinion veterinary practice, with our main branch based in North Tawton. There are two other fully equipped surgeries based in Okehampton and Hatherleigh.
Our clinical team now comprises of, 6 companion animal vets , 4 mixed vets, and 4 farm vets, supported by a team of 4 full- time RVNs, 2 part time RVN's, 2 SVN and 3 ANA.
Duties
You will be working in a friendly supportive team, based on a monthly rota basis at any of our 3 branches.
Duties will include: 1:6 night/weekend OOH rota supporting the vet on call, nurse consultations, admissions and discharges, preparing and monitoring anaesthetics, laboratory diagnostics, radiography, blood sampling, in-patient care, along with maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Hours of work are 8.30am to 5.30pm or 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and one Saturday per calendar month 9am till 1pm or 9am to 1pm then on call until Monday am
You will be expected to be able to support the OOH vet on call on a 1:6 night and weekend rotation, this is non residential.
A mileage payment is also made to cover travel outside of normal working hours, to and from the branch surgery in North Tawton.
CPD allowance paid and three days per annum by mutual agreement
Requirements
Qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant certifications or diplomas.
Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not essential; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Strong laboratory skills with the ability to perform diagnostic tests accurately.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required by the clinic's needs.
