Job Description

Medivet Watford Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their dedicated and experienced team at a well-equipped, busy 24-hour hospital.


Many of the team members hold certificates or are working towards further qualifications in areas such as internal medicine, diagnostic imaging (including CT and cardiology), orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and emergency & critical care (ECC).


This is a full-time position (40 hours across four days) with a 1 in 6 weekend rota.


The Watford hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and manages a wide and complex caseload, making it an ideal environment for veterinary professionals eager to develop their skills in both first-opinion and advanced care.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients. Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity. Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities. Deliver patient monitoring and care. Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team. Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care. Dispense and check medication. Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards. Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience:

RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse. Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team. Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
