The Client
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker, to work with our client and their family in his home, which is spacious, providing plenty of opportunity to use his equipment both inside and in a beautiful, large garden.
Our client, a young boy, who has a bubbly and endearing personality, loves socialising, having fun and leading with his play and learning. He is expressive, makes his own decisions and is motivated.
Our client has Cerebral Palsy, due to a brain injury, which has caused physical limitations. He is a good communicator and cognitively able. He needs support to follow his therapy timetable, leisure activities and routines after school, as well as to progress his independence, with managing aspects of his physical care and safety during mealtimes.
Rehabilitation Support Worker:
You would need to have experience in working with disabled children. An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is essential. Experience with children who have suffered a brain injury would be desirable.
You can work collaboratively with the family to ensure his therapy needs are met in line with the family's wishes.
You will be expected to prioritise the client's needs and provide person centred care. This will be in a safe, positive environment, that the client can engage in and have fun.
You will ensure the client's needs are met, not only in terms of his motor development, but monitoring his nutrition and safety whilst eating.
You are comfortable with using IT skills and handle equipment to ensure the client can access a full range of resources.
You will need to attend all mandatory training provided
Successful DBS Disclosure and referencing required.

We understand the value of a positive working rapport with both our clients and their families, so we always adopt a caring and supportive approach.
The role will predominantly be after school care and every other Saturday but flexibility around this would be appreciated.
It is anticipated up to 20 hours per week to be discussed at interview.
Monday to Friday: 18.00 per hour
Saturday: 20.00 per hour
Bank Holidays: 1.5 times normal hourly rate
