As a Relief Care Worker with CrossReach, you will support older people to live with dignity, comfort and joy. By stepping in when needed, you will provide consistent, person centred care and help create a warm, safe environment where everyone feels valued, respected and supported.


This flexible role is ideal if you are looking to gain experience in care, return to the sector or work in a way that fits around your other commitments.

What your day could involve

Supporting service users with personal and intimate care Assisting with mobility aids and personal equipment Promoting physical and mental wellbeing through meaningful activities Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable home environment Responding to emergencies and working alongside health professionals

About you

You are kind, patient and dependable, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference to older people's lives. You will be comfortable working within CrossReach's Christian ethos and show respect for the values it represents. Ideally, you will hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care or be willing to work towards this with support. You will also have basic computer skills, be registered with the SSSC and hold PVG Scheme membership.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
