The Relief Night Shift Manager will work alongside the Night Shift Manager, playing a key role in leading the standards and performance for your shift. This is an offline position and will focus on driving improvements through your team by standardising our approach and continually pushing to achieve improved results in HSE, Quality, Performance and CI.Why Ornua?

Why This Role Is Valuable:The Relief Shift Night Manager is responsible for leading on.
  • Drive a positive H&S culture by leading by example and accepting zero tolerance for unsafe behaviours and practices.
  • Ensure all manufacturing activities are carried out 'Right First Time'.
  • Ensure excellent standards of hygiene are maintained and drive a GMP culture.
  • Ensure raw material & quality issues are highlighted and resolved in a timely manner. Reporting a non- conformance using Foods Connected.
  • Responsible for accuracy of all production paperwork and correct, closing out of M3 MO's; investigating accordingly
  • Take ownership and support your manager for shift performance across all KPI's (HSE, Technical / Quality, OEE).
  • Liaise with Planning to ensure that any deviation or changes in production requirements are communicated and carried out accordingly.
  • Constantly review the development and career progression of team members through the utilisation of the job grading system, job chats and grading assessments.
  • To drive the Ornua Values & Behaviours within the manufacturing environment and to be the champion of the VIP scheme.
  • In the absence of your manager. Conduct all employee relations activities and complete relevant paperwork promptly, including absence/RTW, disciplinary/grievance issues, probation & flexible working requests, in adherence to the company policies and procedures using People Doc and Liaise with Agency over agency performance & staff requirements
  • Ensure quality checks and shelf-life samples are performed routinely as required following the MO documentation.
  • Utilise regular and consistent communication flows to give and receive feedback between colleagues and the business (eg. daily morning meetings, team huddles etc.).
What You Bring To The Role:
  • Food Hygiene Level 2
  • Leadership experience within a food manufacturing environment including a proven track record of recruiting, managing, motivating and training staff
  • In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety and Technical legislation/procedures/SOPs
  • Demonstrated level of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of MS Office and food manufacturing software
