Role Overview
We're looking for a motivated and organised?Renewable Assistant?to support our growing Renewables Team. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication and coordination skills who is excited about the future of renewable heating systems, particularly Air Source Pumps and Solar. The role is primarily office-based in Strood, with occasional travel to customer sites to assist with surveys, installations, and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination?of renewable heating projects--ensuring timely delivery of materials, labour, and documentation.
Act as a central point of communication?between customers, engineers, and suppliers--managing appointment bookings, handling queries, and providing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist lead engineers?with the preparation and on-site execution of Air Source Heat Pump and solar installations, including commissioning and routine maintenance.
Assisting the Renewables Manager with technical drawings and blueprints, helping ensure installations are in line with design specifications and regulatory standards.
Organise and prepare project documentation, such as customer job packs, system schematics, commissioning certificates, and compliance forms.
Coordinate and assist with applications?for government schemes such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
Maintain and update CRM and job management systems, ensuring all job statuses, notes, and documentation are accurately logged and tracked.
Support post-installation follow-ups, including customer satisfaction checks and ongoing servicing appointments.
Stay up to date with evolving digital tools and software systems to support the smooth and efficient delivery of renewable projects.
Ensure all work adheres to health and safety guidelines, internal company policies, and manufacturer protocols.
Essential Skills & Experience
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
A strong willingness to learn.
Confident using Microsoft Office and other digital tools to track jobs and projects.
Interest in renewable heating systems and willingness to learn about the technology and industry.
Team player with a flexible, proactive attitude.
Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential for office-based role).
Desirable Experience or Qualifications
Interested in the Renewable Energy Sector.
Basic knowledge of plumbing and heating systems.
365 - Microsoft Office Experience
Experience in a supporting role, including coordination of diaries
Familiarity with schemes such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) or Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
