College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences / School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures



Full time: 35 hours per week



Open-ended (permanent)



An opportunity has arisen to be part of a small Research team in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC). This post would suit those looking for a career in research administration by gaining all-round experience in a variety of areas. Applications from those with experience of working in a similar or supporting role for application development and post award support are particularly welcome.



The Opportunity:



Responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative support and guidance for a broad range of the School's research activities. This includes responsibility for advising and supporting academic staff to submit research grant applications, post-award administration with support for a portfolio of research grants and servicing of the research related committees in the School.

Your skills and attributes for success:



Previous experience of research administration or support Previous experience of financial administration and budgeting Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) Excellent skills in planning, organising, prioritisation and time management Strong IT skills, high degree of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team, build effective working relationships, and deal with queries and problems in a professional and timely manner.
