We have an exciting opportunity to progress your career within The DDC Group as

our Research Analyst.





As the Research Analyst within the Energy & Utility Business Unit, you will be responsible for conducting high-quality, actionable research to inform the development of market-aligned propositions. This role supports strategic decision-making by analysing industry trends, customer needs, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities in global energy and utility markets.





This is a permanent full-time position. Hybrid role where you will work from home but have the flexibility with the ability to travel as this role will require travel to sites across the UK with at times, an overnight stay (travel costs will be paid for by The DDC Group except when required to travel to our UK HQ in Worksop).




Key Responsibilities:




Market Intelligence & Industry Analysis




Conduct in-depth research into global trends, regulatory developments, and technological innovations across the energy and utilities sector (e.g., renewables, smart grids, decarbonisation). Identify key market drivers, challenges, and emerging opportunities relevant to DDC's service offerings.

Proposition Development Support




Provide insights to support the creation, validation, and evolution of new and existing propositions. Contribute to the development of value propositions by analysing customer pain points and unmet needs.

Competitor & Benchmarking Research




Conduct competitive analysis to map market players, service models, and pricing strategies. Benchmark DDC's capabilities against industry standards and identify areas for differentiation.

Stakeholder Collaboration




Work closely with business development, marketing, operations, and technology teams to align research outputs with commercial goals. Support workshops, ideation sessions, and go-to-market planning with data-driven insights.

Reporting & Presentation




Develop concise, visual, and impactful reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored for both internal and external stakeholders. Communicate complex findings clearly to support executive decision-making.



What do you need?




Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into actionable insights. Familiarity with energy transition trends, utility business models, and global regulatory environments. Proficiency in research tools, databases, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Commercially astute with a keen interest in energy and sustainability topics. Highly organized and proactive, able to manage multiple research initiatives simultaneously. Collaborative mindset and a willingness to work in cross-functional teams. Curious, detail-oriented, and continuously seeking improvement. Willingness and ability to travel nationally and overseas as required.



Qualifications and Experience:




2-4 years' experience in a research, data, consulting, or market intelligence role, ideally in energy, utilities, or related industries.
