About the role

We are seeking to appoint a research assistant with a background in survey research methods.
The postholder will work on a project funded by Marie Curie Care awarded to Dr White and Dr Kupeli. The project aims to understand the availability, suitability, and accessibility of voluntary sector and local government financial support schemes for people living with terminal illness in England and Wales. To investigate this research question, the postholder will:
1) Conduct an online survey to map voluntary sector and local authority sources of financial support that an individual living with terminal illness could apply for.
2) Participant in any policy engagement and impact enabling activities.
The postholder will conduct a high-quality study using quantitative research methodologies to understand how voluntary sector and local authorities offer financial support for people living with terminal illness. They will collect data, analyse and interpret the results, write up and disseminate the findings to clinical, educational, and government audiences. They will work collaboratively with the study team including with a post-doctoral researcher based at the Marie Curie Research Centre, Cardiff University.
The postholder will be funded for 6 months.

About you

We are seeking to appoint a researcher with a background in mixed research methodologies; particularly within a palliative or health care context, along with the following critirea:
Has an MSc and experience of a range of methodologies, preferably in survey design.
Have an interest in inequality, particularly poverty
Has strong communication and IT skills
