About the Centre:
The new Centre for Equalities in Uniformed Public Services is a 11.3 million investment in uniformed public services research by UKRI and represents a substantial increase in ARU's research capacity. Key objectives of the new Centre include producing excellent underpinning research into cultural transformation in uniformed public services, and adopting a strongly collaborative approach with local, regional, and national uniformed public services organisations to tacking issues around equality, diversity, and inclusion. The new Centre brings together the strengths of two of ARU's existing outstanding Research Institutes (the Veterans and Families Institute (VFI) and the International Policing and Public Protection Research Institute (IPPPRI).
About the Role:
The Research Project Manager will be responsible for the effective delivery of academic research projects within the Centre, working in collaboration with our research team. The role-holder will help to manage, support and communicate with all major research project stakeholders. The new Centre will have a strongly collaborative approach with local, regional, and national uniformed public services organisations to tackle issues around equality, diversity, and inclusion. This role will also include work to support research in both IPPPRI and the VFI.
You'll have a degree, significant experience of research-specific project management in an area of public services and the ability to work effectively with academic staff. This post offers a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised professional to join our excellent team and be at the heart of this important new Centre, as well as supporting the research excellence within both VFI & IPPPRI.
With previous experience of managing research projects, ideally gained in a higher education environment, you'll been keen to develop an understanding of ARUs systems and processes and use this knowledge to support and advise colleagues across the Centre. You'll be comfortable working with a remote/hybrid team and working in a fast-paced environment. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is essential.
