Research Support Officer (award Mobilisation) (multiple Posts Available)

Manchester, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you attracted to variety in your working life? Do you relish a challenge and want to work with great people doing great things? If you are organised, have an eye for detail and great communication skills? Then a role supporting our researchers to find, secure and manage their research funding might be for you.

We are looking for nine Research Support Officers to work as part of our Research Services teams in either our Faculty of Science and Engineering or Faculty of Biology Medicine and Health. These roles are focused on delivering high quality support to our world class academic and research community. The roles have a focus on either supporting researchers to find and apply for research funding or helping researchers to set-up and start their research projects when funding has been won. Whilst there is a focus to these roles you will also be supported to learn and understand the support needs of our researchers across the whole research funding lifecycle. Our researchers work with funders from the UK and globally and this requires applicants for these roles to be customer focussed, tenacious and enjoy learning new things whilst gaining on the job experience. Training for applicants will be provided but the role is most suited to self-starters, with good numeracy skills, who enjoy variety in their day and working with a diverse and highly motivated customer base.

You will report to a Research Support Manager and work closely with Research Services and other professional services colleagues across the University to support our researchers to maximize their ability to attract and secure research funding, enabling them to focus on delivering high quality research and to exploit their research outcomes.
