Harris Hill are excited to be partnered with a fantastic medical membership organisation in their search for a Research, International & Small Sections Committees Support Officer.

Salary: \xc2\xa332,000 - \xc2\xa335,000

As Research, International & Small Sections Committees Support Officer, you will support the effective implementation and development of the organisations Research and International Strategies and the effective operation of the Research, International and small Section Committees.

The organisation has over three thousand members drawn from the ranks of physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses, dietitians, and others interested in the field. The committee services team support more than 25 specialised committees to deliver their strategic goals for the society. This is varied, and includes events, clinical guidelines, education, awards, and other professional initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Committee Chairs and/or the Committee Deputy Chairs in the effective running of the Research Committee and International Committee, including meeting arrangements, preparation of papers, managing attendance and taking accurate and approved minutes.
  • Supporting both Committees in delivering membership benefit in the research and international arena that is innovative, timely and relevant, e.g. grants/scholarships, bursaries, abstracts and awards.
  • Providing general support to Clinical Research Groups that report to the Research Committee.
  • To be a key point of contact for external partners, including charities, research funders, universities and other professional societies, nationally and internationally within the active workstreams committees are involved in.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within a membership body eg. committee support experience, or other relevant experience including minute taking, project management, event management, direct work with members on various initiatives and will have a strong understanding of digital platforms. Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders; understanding their needs and the best channels to engage with them is a must, alongside excellent people and project management skills. The ability to prioritise across multiple projects to maximise impact with limited resources under minimal supervision is also key.
