Residence Life Senior Wellbeing Adviser

Grade: UE07 - \xc2\xa337,099 - \xc2\xa344,263 + 5% premium band uplift due to working hours rota and an on-call payment

Contract Type - Open - Ended - Full Time - 35 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity and are looking for a highly experienced, passionate wellbeing professional to join our award-winning Residence Life team.

The Opportunity:

To fulfil a pivotal role in leading on local case management for complex student wellbeing cases. Through direct line management of Residence Life Wellbeing Advisers, the Senior Wellbeing Adviser provides wellbeing advice and support to students living in University accommodation including partaking in an on-call, out of hours\' crisis intervention rota as part of the Residence Intervention Team (RIT).

The Residence Life Senior Wellbeing Adviser will manage a caseload of escalated individual support cases (liaising or escalating to other specialist services and departments within the University as required) and provide a proactive outreach service to students and staff as part of a wider student support ecosystem at the University.

Additionally proposing and implementing improvements in a continually and rapidly changing environment will be key to the role, as will monitoring, evaluating, collection and analysis of data.

This post is crucial to the teaching, learning, health and wellbeing outcomes of our students living in University accommodation and the University\'s Mental Health Strategy Action Plan.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Take ownership of providing and coordinating non-clinical student support intervention and liaise with, or escalate to, University wellbeing and other specialist university services ensuring student queries and cases that negatively impact on health, wellbeing and academic progress are dealt with urgently.
  • Ability to provide appropriate wellbeing support to individual students going through complex adverse life situations, follow up any concerns and co-ordinate any required responses, signposting to other School/University services where required.
  • Attention to detail, experience of maintaining records, case notes and appropriate reporting following confidentiality and GDPR.
  • Proven experience of providing advice, guidance and support in challenging and often changing environments.
  • Strong team player with ability to work independently and use initiative when required including on-call out of hours.
