Essential:

The willingness to work toward a fully funded NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care.

We are looking for new staff to join our team of care workers and our bank of Relief care workers at our Grimsby based children's residential home.

You will need to be warm, empathetic and have a desire to support our children with developing their communication, practical and day-to-day skills.

Our children may have Autism, learning difficulties and complex needs. Some may also need help with their personal care or maybe just helping in the right direction. Our team are all calm, kind, conscientious people that take care of our children's every day needs.

As a team you will help to encourage our children to maintain and learn new social, educational and life skills. The personal care that you provide for our children will respect their rights to privacy, dignity, and individuality.

Tasks are varied and interesting and no two days are ever the same. You will be ensuring that the home is clean and safe by undertaking household tasks, such as washing, ironing, cooking, assisting with personal care and administering medication.

You will play a key role in the smooth running of the home and have a good grasp of safeguarding, Health & Safety, and also hygiene. This is a role in which attention to detail really counts and one that touches the real lives of people every day.

Skills, knowledge and experience you would need to apply for the post

It is essential that you have experience providing compassionate primary care to young people and children or even caring for a loved one, perhaps as a parent. You will be expected to be a good listener and show a genuine interest in our children's needs; being an effective communicator verbally, or by using sign language is key to this role. (We provide training in Makaton and Pecs, so this is not essential).

It is of primary importance that you understand what confidentiality means due to the nature of our organisation. The role does require the completion of paperwork so it is a must that you have basic literacy and numeracy skills.

We are looking for staff who are honest, dependable, reliable and show a willingness to learn and use their initiative to optimise our children's care.

You will be provided with a more detailed and Person Specification at application stage.

Treehouse Care Fostering Solutions Ltd respects equal opportunity and we are a Disability Confident Employer.
