At Norfolk County Council our commitment to providing proven, quality, holistic residential care for children and young people with disabilities aims to achieve excellent outcomes and lasting results. We are passionate about the provision of creative and ambitious opportunities for our young people. Our Services are well regarded, and we are proud of our reputation for ensuring the best outcomes for disabled children.

We are currently in the process of establishing a new residential home within the Norwich area called 'Applewood', which will provide holistic care for young people with learning disabilities who have autism and sensory needs who may display behaviours of distress.

'Applewood' has the potential to provide a home for two young people. The service is situated in a Norwich suburb which has good bus links as well as being close the rail station in the city. It's location also means that the children who live there will also have good access to local shops, parks and other conveniently situated leisure facilities such as ten-pin bowling venues, swimming pools and cinemas as well as providing easy access to the Norfolk coast.

We are now recruiting for residential children's practitioners for day and night roles. We need highly motivated, resilient and positive individuals who possess humour, tenacity and empathy to help children and young people with disabilities to flourish and reach their full potential.

The rewards from the direct work with the young people can be endless but in addition you will receive a thorough initial induction and training programme as well as on-going training opportunities, the option to join a highly regarded pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, support and supervision.
