About Us



Steps Support Residential are opening a brand new single occupancy children's home in Summer 2025, our children's home will be newly registered giving the team the opportunity to create a positive culture not only for the child whose home it is but also for the team.

The home is a spacious and cosy property, we look after a single (solo) child in this home, providing a warm and loving environment where they can feel safe and encouraged to thrive.

Our ethos and values build on a compassionate and nurturing style, with a strong emphasis on high aspirations for the young people we support.

The Role



We are looking to employ a team of dedicated Residential Childcare Workers. The ideal person will provide a safe, warm and loving environment which will promote independence skills to support our children to reach their full potential, ensuring their well-being is at the forefront of everything you do.

We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and experience from all backgrounds. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, an affinity with our values and dedication and a commitment to fostering a positive environment.

Duties Include:



Direct support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being. Support with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, education and recreational activities. Develop and implement care plans and risk assessments which are individualised meeting needs of each child. Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure the child is at the centre of any decision making. Maintain accurate daily records of progress and key events: family time, daily summaries, medication, activities, achievements and rewards, key worker sessions and independence skills (List not exhaustive). Accompany our child/children on holidays away from the residential home. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided. Daily tasks involved in running a home which will include the child such as cleaning, laundry, cooking (List not exhaustive). Escort to various locations as required for education, health, leisure and family time.

About You
