Role Overview

As a

Bank Staff Residential Support Worker

, you will work on a flexible, zero-hour basis to provide care and support to children and young people aged 8-18 in a residential setting. You will play a key role in ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development, helping to create a nurturing and structured environment. This role is perfect for individuals seeking flexibility while making a genuine difference in young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people. Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies. Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety policies at all times. Support children with daily routines, education, independence, and life skills. Contribute to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and homely environment. Keep accurate records and contribute to individual care and support plans. Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and potential sleep-in shifts as required.

Requirements

? Experience working with children or young people (residential care experience desirable).
? Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management.
? Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
? Resilient, reliable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
? NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
