Residential Support Worker - Ipswich and Colchester Homes
13.00 - 13.65 per hour +35 per sleep in
39 hours per week with up to 3 sleep-ins.
We aim to provide specialised quality care for children and young people, aged 13 - 18yrs. The primary role of our support workers is to make a difference to the lives of the young people residing in our homes.
Responsibilities:
Promote the development of the young people
Use relationship-based practice to understand the young peoples interests.
Support the young peoples independant by teaching them life skills such as cooking, cleaning and budgeting.
Support and deliver FEVACA education programme (life skills programme)
Support and deliver FEVACA Health & wellbeing programme
Use the community as a means of support and social learning for the young people
Develop and maintain good working relationships with family members where appropriate, social workers, school staff and other professionals with a concern for the young person's needs
Ensure compliance with the Children's Act 1989/ 2004 and associated regulations

Essential
Right to work in the UK
Ability to work 8am - 11pm with sleep-ins.
Flexible availability over weekends
Genuinely caring, with a want to provide fantastic support to children.
You are able to keep accurate records, carrying out all recording and reporting in a person-centered, factual manner.
You work safely and ensure contractual and regulatory compliance so our young people can trust, feel safe and have confidence in the support we provide
Willingness to attend trainings and further your knowledge.
Good communication, good written skills and fluent English
Positive, with a problem-solving approach to challenging situations
Reliable, with good time keeping.

Experience in working with young people/ social care
Hold a level 3 qualification in residential childcare
