We are looking for enthusiastic residential support workers to join our organisation. To provide support, advice and assistance to young people aged 10-17years old, supervising the daily running of the home and working as part of a team enabling great futures for young people.
Job Role
Provide a caring supportive and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm
Establish positive relationships with the young people offering unconditional and positive support
Acting as an advocate at meetings where the young person is subject of discussion
To act as a key worker or co-worker for a young person to ensure that their care plans are up to date and all their care needs are being meet, keeping accurate records and being able to work to Ofsted regulations.
Support the day to day running of the home, cooking, cleaning ect.
Encourage the young people to develop links with the community and attend off site activities and help expand their personal social network
To work as part of a team attending regular meetings and actively contributing to them
Be able to work in an ever-changing environment and to be able to handle challenging situations.
Essential Criteria
Have a minimum of 1years experience working in children's home or similar childcare setting
Hold a minimum QCF level 2 in health and social care in children and young people
Be able to work on a rotational basis and at least 1- 2weekends a month
Want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people
Desirable Criteria
Hold a full driver's license
Have an up to date transferable DBS
