As a Resource Manager, you will assume a pivotal role in the allocation of Business Unit staff to various projects and initiatives. You will manage the scheduling process to ensure optimal utilisation of staff, working closely with Business Leads, Operations Lead, project leaders, RM Business Partner and industry teams to understand current and future resource requirements to allocate appropriate resources whilst supporting SRTA and Business Unit people strategies.
You will serve as a trusted advisor, offering well-balanced and pragmatic guidance on resourcing solutions to stakeholders and practitioners. You will be responsible for the delivery of a highly professional resource management service to the business unit and broader SR&T-A business.

The objectives of the Resource Management team are to:
Proactively engage with senior leadership, Partners, Directors, and Engagement Managers to understand their evolving resource needs, including staying informed about project extensions, new business wins, and potential changes in strategic direction, delivering innovative solutions for resource allocation challenges while ensuring fair consideration and transparent decision making.
Strategically assign practitioners to assignments, considering client projects, internal initiatives, and proposals. Effectively communicate project assignments to practitioners, addressing any concerns and highlighting the value and growth opportunities, even if the assignment might not appear an ideal fit initially.
Collaborate with RM Business Partner, Operations and wider SR&T-A to drive continuous improvement in service delivery effectiveness and efficiency, as well as schedule accuracy.
Become a subject matter expert in STAFFIT, the resource management scheduling system, including its reporting functionalities. Actively champion the system's weekly utilisation to promote data accuracy and informed decision-making across the team.
Maintain overall data integrity and accuracy within STAFFIT, ensuring it reflects the current resource allocation status for all grades within Business Unit.
Ensure regular and transparent communication with practitioners about potential project assignments and developmental opportunities, especially those requiring travel or significant time away from the office. Discuss potential impacts on work-life balance and explore options to address individual needs and preferences.
Work with broader HR teams and People leaders, to proactively address resourcing-related matters to ensure a consistent and positive employee experience while providing valuable insights for performance management, recruitment, and people development. Provide comprehensive reports on resource availability and utilisation forecasts, providing timely and accurate insights to support leadership decision-making.

Essential Skills:
Experience of working within a professional services environment, with previous comparable resourcing role ideally.
+ Evidence of skill matching e.g. CVs to appropriate roles.
+ Evidence of dealing with a wide range of people at different levels.
+ Evidence of strong administrative and organisations skills.
+ Logistics background. Computer literate, in particular a working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel (and ideally Power point).
Proactive and creative approach to problem solving in a high pressure and fluid business environment.
Numerate and well organised.
Attention to detail and able to spot inconsistencies/discrepancies.
Conscientious and diligent approach to work.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Appreciation of potentially sensitive/confidential information and how to deal with it both from a risk management and HR management point of view.
