Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable and values-driven Responsible Individual (RI) to provide strategic oversight, ensure regulatory compliance, and support our Registered Manager in delivering excellent care to children and young people in our home. This is a key leadership position focused on ensuring that Aden Children's Home meets or exceeds all requirements set out by Ofsted and embodies our core values: compassionate care, child-focused support, leading with love, encouraging excellence, and restoring faith in futures.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure regulatory compliance
with all legislative and statutory frameworks, particularly the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and associated Quality Standards.
Support and supervise the Registered Manager
, offering strategic guidance and helping them maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
Represent the organisation to Ofsted and other external bodies
, ensuring robust monitoring, record-keeping, and action planning in response to inspections or audits.
Monitor and review home performance
through audits, reports, and meetings to ensure high standards of safeguarding, care planning, and outcomes for children.
Promote the vision, ethos, and values of Aden Homes Limited across the organisation, supporting a culture where staff are empowered, and young people are at the heart of all decisions.
Participate in
senior leadership meetings
, providing insight on compliance, quality assurance, workforce development, and care improvement strategies.
Maintain
robust knowledge of changes to legislation
, policy, and best practice in residential childcare, ensuring timely updates to policies and procedures.
Foster positive working relationships with external stakeholders, including Ofsted, commissioning bodies, and local authorities.
Provide
mentoring and supervision
to the Registered Manager, and input into recruitment, training, and strategic planning.
Contribute to the long-term development
of Aden Homes Limited by supporting the establishment of future homes and helping embed excellence from the outset.
Essential Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children and Young People's Residential Care (or equivalent).
Recent experience as a Responsible Individual or senior leadership within a children's residential setting.
In-depth understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted frameworks.
Proven track record of successfully supporting or leading homes through Ofsted inspections (including achieving "Good" or "Outstanding").
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and mentor effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in monitoring compliance and improving performance.
Passionate commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
A values-driven approach aligned with Aden Homes Limited ethos of compassion, excellence, and empowerment.
Desirable
Experience supporting a new provider through registration and early-stage development.
Knowledge of therapeutic models of care or experience in trauma-informed practice.
Driving licence and flexibility to travel locally to the home and attend external meetings as needed.
