Summary



A thought leader in responsible AI development in the Chief Data and Analytics Office. This role will inform the standard for ethical AI development and deployment for the Group especially when it comes to guardrails and technical AI risk mitigation approaches and will contribute to the Group's AI strategy.

At this exciting time when Lloyds Banking Group is starting to adopt AI at scale, we are seeking a thought leader in responsible AI development to join our AI Centre of Excellence in the Chief Data and Analytics Office! The role will be key to defining the standard to which the Group develops and deploys AI, tracking the latest techniques and informing our approach to guardrails. This role is essential in ensuring that while Lloyds Banking Group scales in its AI adoption, it does so with integrity, transparency, and in accordance with regulatory and societal expectations!


Your work will inform the Group's AI strategy. You'll be expected to act as a transformative leader, with a strong vision, promoting a culture of safe and ethical AI throughout the organisation, providing thought leadership, and advising senior leaders on responsible AI tooling, guardrails and AI risk mitigation techniques.


Key duties involve:


Demonstrate leadership on guardrails and technical AI risk mitigation approaches to upskill teams across the business. Drive the development of AI solutions underpinned by robust guardrails, ethical principles, and compliance with governance and regulation, at scale. Identify opportunities and provide support to embed best in class approaches into AI development workflows. Work together with our Platform leaders to embed the latest thinking into our enterprise AI tooling. Accelerate the responsible development and deployment of key AI use cases, including AI agents.

What you'll need



PhD in AI, AI Ethics or a related field or equivalent, significant industry experience working in a technical data role. Deep understanding of emergent AI risks particularly as it relates to Generative AI and Agentic AI, and how to mitigate these risks through tooling and procedures. Experience developing AI and Generative AI to the highest ethical standards. A good understanding of Cloud technologies including, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and the Responsible AI tooling available on GCP / VertexAI. Ability to make complicated technological concepts simple to senior audiences. Excellent relationship management with the ability to influence senior partners and course correct initiatives towards strategic outcomes.
